Purple Stacked Eyelet Cowl

Pattern: Stacked Eyelet Cowl by Ami Madison

Yarn: Jojoland Melody Superwash
Content: 100% Superwash Wool

Needles: Addi Turbo Circular size 5.

Cast on: November 24, 2011
Bound off: December 8, 2011 in Kihei, Maui, Hawaii

Comments: It only uses one 50g ball of yarn. I used fingering weight, though the pattern calls for sport weight.

I did make one change in the pattern. I added 6 rows of garter stitch at the beginning and end so the edges don't curl.

Comments: I started out with the intent to make stockinette mittens, but decided to make it interesting by incorporating some seed stitch stripes. I've written up the pattern  and you can find it, free, on my pattern blog.

I love the texture. They knit up quickly too because they're made with worsted weight yarn.

A Rainbow for My Hands the Prequel

Pattern: A Rainbow for My Hands by me.

Yarn: Crystal Palace Yarns Mini Mochi
Content: 80% Superwash Merino Wool/20% Nylon

Needles : Addi Turbo Circular size 1

Size: Ladies Medium

Cast On: Februaruy 23, 2011
Bound Off: May 13, 2011

Comments:  These were the prototype mitts for the pattern I wrote. I love this pattern, but then I'm biased because I wrote it. The yarn was a little hard to work with because it splits extremely easily when using sharp pointed needles. (I used Addi Turbo Lace. Very sharp.) So be aware. Other than that, I like it a lot. It feels very nice on the hands and the long color changes look very cool in entrelac.
